Here are the pictures and bios of the Bigel Music drum
teachers.

Dave Hamar |
|
Dave
Hamar is a native Tampa drummer currently studying at the University of South
Florida with a Major of Music Studies in Jazz Percussion. He got his Associates'
Degree with an emphasis on Percussion Performance at Hillsborough Community
College, where he received "Performer of the Semester" two times in a row. Dave
has played in many different bands including a band that opened for The Voices
of Classic Rock (which contained the lead singers from Survivor, Loverboy,
Orleans, Starship, and Toto), and also opened for Quiet Riot at an international
venue in South Korea. He plays in a rock band, church band, and a Jazz Combo at
the University of South Florida. Dave also played some gigs with the local
legend, pianist Robert Winslow, former member of the original Coasters, and
blues guitarist Dr. Gary Brown. He has even performed at Busch Gardens in a
group called the Percustodians. |

Jose Cochez |
|

Jose
started playing drums at the age of 15 and played and wrote songs for several
bands in his home country of Panama, Central America. He then became interested
in jazz, jazz/fusion and other music so he moved to Miami to study music, and
then Tampa to study Music in a more “formal” context. He received an Associate’s
Degree from Hillsborough Community College, where he had experience and
education in percussion as well as drum set. At Hillsborough, Jose was part of
the Percussion Ensemble, The Fanfare Winds Concert Band, and The Jazz Band: all
three as a drummer/ percussionist for a period of two years. Jose is now
pursuing a Bachelor's Degree of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of South
Florida. Jose teaches various styles of percussion and is great with students of
all ages. |
